Fade Out is one of those skincare brands that might slide under the radar if you’re not actively on the hunt for brightening products. Despite the somewhat understated presence, the brand has been making waves with their Advanced Brightening Night Cream, a product they claim can actively brighten and even the skin tone while you sleep, thanks to a rich and nourishing formula packed with clinically proven ingredients.

Over the past week, I put this cream to the test to see if it truly stands out and whether it’s worth your hard-earned money. This review is not paid or sponsored, and every opinion here is based on my firsthand experience using the product. Of course, everyone’s skin is different, so results may vary from person to person.

What Is Advanced Brightening Night Cream?

Advanced Brightening Night Cream is a targeted skincare product formulated to work while you sleep, which is when the skin’s natural renewal process is at its most active. Classified as a night cream, it’s designed to address uneven skin tone and areas of pigmentation using clinically proven brightening ingredients. Night creams generally have a richer consistency than day creams, delivering nourishing benefits and essential hydration at a time when your skin is most receptive to repair and recovery.

This particular formula from Fade Out incorporates plant oils rich in fatty acids and antioxidants to support the skin’s barrier function, while Niacinamide helps brighten by targeting excess melanin. The addition of naturally occurring AHAs offers mild exfoliation, which can assist in further evening out your complexion over time. It’s positioned as a simple yet comprehensive option for anyone seeking a night cream that focuses on overall radiance and hydration.

Did It Work?

In the spirit of being very scientific (or at least pretending to be), I put my usual night cream on the shelf for a solid seven days so I could really give Advanced Brightening Night Cream a fair shot. By day one, I noticed the texture was rich but surprisingly easy to smooth over my skin without leaving a heavy, greasy feel behind. My face felt well-moisturized the next morning, though I didn’t see any immediate brightening benefits.

Throughout the week, I applied it nightly right before bed, focusing on areas like my cheeks and forehead where I deal with some hyperpigmentation. By the midweek mark, I thought my skin looked a bit softer, but my trouble spots were still pretty noticeable. The dryness around my nose did improve, which was a nice bonus. However, I didn’t see a dramatic evening of skin tone or that “wow” brightening effect I was hoping for.

By the end of those seven days, my skin felt adequately hydrated and perhaps a touch smoother, but it seemed to be missing the boost in luminosity that was promised. While it definitely didn’t set me back in terms of hydration or comfort, it also didn’t deliver significantly on the brightening or corrective claims. With that said, I’m not entirely convinced it earned a permanent place in my personal skincare lineup. It might work better for someone else, but for me, I’ll probably return to my usual night cream for more consistent results on the brightening front.

Advanced Brightening Night Cream’s Main Ingredients Explained

The star ingredients here revolve around brightening, hydration, and gentle exfoliation. First up is Niacinamide, a standout for targeting excess melanin and helping to even out your skin tone over time. Niacinamide is also known for its soothing properties, making it a great addition to a nighttime formula focused on both comfort and glow.

Sodium Lactate, sitting at a relatively high concentration, is an excellent humectant that draws moisture into the skin, which is why this product feels so nurturing. In a similar vein, Lactic Acid, a naturally occurring AHA, lends a mild exfoliating effect that can help buff away dull surface cells without being too abrasive. This can make your skin appear smoother while minimizing the look of fine lines and pigmentation spots.

The formula also harnesses plant oils rich in fatty acids like Rosa Canina Fruit Oil (rosehip) and Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil (sacha inchi), both known for their antioxidant and barrier-supporting properties. For anyone worried about their pores, none of these oils are typically classed as highly comedogenic, meaning they’re less likely to clog pores (which is what comedogenic refers to). Of course, everyone’s skin is different, so it’s still wise to patch test if you’re prone to congestion.

Looking at the ingredient list as a whole, there don’t appear to be any obvious animal-derived components, so it seems suitable for vegetarians, and quite possibly vegans as well, though those with strict criteria might want to confirm any potential hidden sourcing issues. If you’re cautious about fragrance, there is Parfum in the product, so keep that in mind if you have sensitivities. All in all, the combination of brighteners, gentle exfoliants, and hydrating ingredients here aims to tackle both uneven skin tone and dryness in a single nightly step.

What I Liked/Didn’t Like

Here’s a quick look at the highlights and areas that could use a bit more finesse.

What Works Well:

  • Sinks in readily without feeling greasy
  • Rich, hydrating texture suitable for nighttime use

What to Consider:

  • Might not deliver dramatic brightening in the short term
  • The texture could feel slightly heavy for some skin types
  • Contains fragrance, which may not suit sensitive skin

My Final Thoughts

Having used my fair share of night creams, I can say I gave Fade Out’s Advanced Brightening Night Cream a fair shot. There’s always a cozy sense of reassurance in finding the right bedtime moisturizer, one that hydrates thoroughly while also making you feel proactive about tackling any skincare concerns overnight. With this cream, I appreciated its rich texture and the gentle support it offered on the hydration front. Unfortunately, the more dramatic brightening benefits the brand promises were a bit harder to spot. It did well enough to keep dryness under control, but if you’re banking on a visible transformation in pigmentation or luminosity, you might not be blown away by the results after a week or two.

I still think it could be a decent option for anyone looking to reinforce their skin’s barrier function and maintain general hydration each night. If you have mild discoloration or are easily pleased with subtle improvements, it could be right up your alley. However, for those who want a pronounced boost in glow or more intense evening out of the skin tone, you may find this cream falls short. On my personal scale, it scores a 6/10. I wouldn’t rush to recommend it to a close friend as a miraculous brightening solution, yet I also don’t think it’s one to completely disregard, especially if your main goal is a nourishing, comfortable nightly moisturizer.

If you’re still on the lookout for a standout night cream, I’ve used a few others that may tick the right boxes. First up is Nocturnal Revive Cream by Deascal. It’s a reliable all-rounder, suitable for just about any skin type, and it comes at an appealing price point, perfect if you want something that does it all without breaking the bank. For a slightly more indulgent (yet effective) option, Pro-Collagen Night Cream by ELEMIS delivers a rich, luxurious feel and has done wonders for my skin’s plumpness in the past. Another worthy contender is Squalane + Ectoin Overnight Rescue by BIOSSANCE, which I found superb at soothing and hydrating, particularly when my skin was feeling sensitized. These are just a few alternatives should you decide that Fade Out’s Advanced Brightening Night Cream simply isn’t delivering what you need.

Before you slather on any new night treatment, remember that patch testing is your best friend, especially if you have sensitivities or have never tried the product (or its ingredients) before. And keep in mind that any results you see aren’t permanent; continuous use is important for maintaining those small (and hopefully noticeable) gains over time. Here’s to hoping your next pick brings you clearer, brighter mornings, and a deep, restful night’s sleep along the way.
