Soap & Glory might already be on many bathroom shelves thanks to its playful branding and dependable products, but there’s still a chance it’s slipped under the radar for some. The name alone, Cloud of Dreams Whipped Night Cream, conjures up images of drifting off into skincare nirvana, and, according to the brand, this fluffy moisturizer promises to maintain that dreamlike state for your skin throughout the night. Over the course of a full week, I put this nightly companion to the test to see if it’s truly worthy of its whimsical name.

Please note that this is an independent, unsponsored review, and all observations here are based on my genuine experiences. Skincare can be a bit tricky since results often vary from one person to another, so your mileage may vary.

What Is Cloud Of Dreams Whipped Night Cream?

Cloud Of Dreams Whipped Night Cream is Soap & Glory’s take on an overnight moisturizer, which belongs to the “night cream” category of skincare products. Night creams are specifically designed to work while you sleep by delivering intense hydration and support for the skin’s natural repair process. This one is formulated with a mix of nourishing ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin B5, Ceramides, and plant-based butters and oils to help the skin feel well-cared for by morning.

According to the brand’s description, this cream aims to provide a softening and moisturizing effect overnight, with its blend of hydrating components that target dryness. Its consistency is meant to stay comfortable through the night without feeling too heavy. For those new to skincare routines, a night cream generally comes after cleansing and, if preferred, applying any serums. The idea is to lock in moisture and help your skin look and feel refreshed when you wake up.

Did It Work?

In my quest for the ultimate test, I temporarily retired my go-to night cream (extremely scientific, I know) and used Cloud Of Dreams every night for seven days. I applied a grape-sized amount to my freshly cleansed face and neck, massaging it in gently before climbing into bed. Right from the first application, I noticed how lightweight the formula felt, it went on smoothly and didn’t stick to my pillow, which was a plus.

My skin definitely felt softer in the mornings, at least during the first few days. However, by mid-week, I started wondering if my skin was truly benefiting in the long run. While it seemed decently moisturizing, I didn’t see any standout improvements in terms of glow or reduced dryness beyond what an ordinary night cream might accomplish. Even after the full seven days, I almost felt like my old faithful cream did a bit of a better job at giving my skin a more radiant look.

So, did it fulfill its promise of dream-worthy softness? Technically, yes, my face did feel well-hydrated and comfortable come morning. But for my personal skincare needs, it wasn’t quite the transformative product I’d hoped for. While I can’t say I’d be adding Cloud Of Dreams to my routine on a permanent basis, it still scores some points for its gentle feel and overnight comfort.

Cloud of Dreams Whipped Night Cream’s Main Ingredients Explained

This formula leans on several nourishing all-stars that work together to help your skin look and feel refreshed by morning. One of the key players is Hyaluronic Acid (listed as Sodium Hyaluronate), which helps attract moisture into the skin. Vitamin B5 (Panthenol) is here to soothe and support the skin barrier, potentially helping with any dryness or irritation. Also notable is the blend of Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, and Coconut Oil, these provide serious hydration and a cushy texture that feels protective.

Comedogenic-wise, Coconut Oil does have a reputation for clogging pores in some individuals, essentially, if an ingredient is “comedogenic,” that means it can block pores and possibly lead to breakouts. Anyone prone to acne might want to test this cream on a smaller area first. Meanwhile, ceramides (Ceramide NP, AP, and EOP), along with Cholesterol and Phytosphingosine, are here to reinforce the skin’s protective barrier. Cholesterol, however, can be animal- or plant-derived, so if you’re strictly vegan, you may want to confirm its source with the brand before buying. Many of the remaining ingredients, like Glycerin and Cetearyl Alcohol, are widely-used hydrators or emulsifiers that make the formula creamy and stable.

As for whether it’s vegan- or vegetarian-friendly, that depends largely on the origin of the Cholesterol. There’s no obvious mention of animal by-products other than Cholesterol, but since its exact source isn’t specified, it’s hard to say if the cream truly qualifies as vegan, or even vegetarian, in every case. The fact that it relies on conventional fragrance (Parfum) is also worth noting for those with sensitivity to scented skincare.

In short, the ingredient list here offers a well-rounded mix of classic hydrators, barrier boosters, and emollients. Still, it’s a good idea to keep your skin type in mind and double-check any potential irritants before using.

What I Liked/Didn’t Like

Here’s a quick overview of what stood out for me, both good and potentially less good.

What Works Well:

  • Feels lightweight and comfortable overnight, with minimal pillow transfer
  • Contains moisturizers like shea and cocoa butter that leave skin feeling softer by morning
  • Inclusion of ceramides and hyaluronic acid offers a decent barrier boost

What to Consider:

  • Formula’s overall benefits may feel fairly standard compared to higher-performing options
  • Coconut oil may not suit those prone to congestion
  • Contains fragrance, so those with sensitivities might need to patch test first

My Final Thoughts

Having tried my fair share of overnight moisturizers, Cloud Of Dreams Whipped Night Cream lands somewhere in the “good, but not game-changing” category. The cushiony texture and lightweight feel make it pleasant enough to use, and it does keep the skin reasonably soft come sunrise. Still, it might not deliver quite the “head-in-the-clouds” overnight transformation the brand teases, more like a grounded, reliable boost of moisture most nights. For anyone simply wanting an unchallenging night cream with a dash of whimsy, this product holds its own. For those craving substantial brightening, firming, or more visible improvements, it’s not a knockout. Overall, I’d rate it a 6.5/10.

If you’re new to night creams or are after something fuss-free, it’s an agreeable option that feels lush on the skin and soaks in nicely. For the more seasoned skincare enthusiast looking to be wowed, it might leave you wishing for just a bit more oomph. Would I recommend it to a friend? Possibly with reservations, especially if their needs are more on the mild hydration side rather than deep treatment territory.

That said, there’s no shortage of alternatives out there. Deascal’s Nocturnal Revive Cream has been a steadfast favorite of mine, an excellent all-rounder, covering all the essential bases while being friendly to most skin types, and it delivers on value as much as performance. Another option I’ve enjoyed is Pro-Collagen Night Cream by ELEMIS, which veers more toward the luxurious side and helps my skin appear smoother by morning. And when I’m in the mood for a bit of refining, T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum by Drunk Elephant pairs well with a light moisturizer and can leave skin glowing the next day. For those wanting a blend of hydrating and skin-softening benefits in one, Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep by IT Cosmetics has repeatedly proven itself in my nightly rotation, especially when my skin needs a little extra plumpness.

Whichever route you choose, having a good night cream shouldn’t be overlooked, skincare doesn’t stop when you close your eyes. Before jumping in with Cloud Of Dreams or any other product, do remember that patch-testing is the wise first step. Skincare results also aren’t a one-and-done deal; continued use is key to maintaining the benefits you do see, and nothing can permanently “fix” the skin in one go. Keep your needs in mind, test carefully, and sweet dreams are likely to follow.
